KB4093112 We couldn't complete the updates undoing changes

Thanks Jeff! I did a clean installation of Windows 10 Home version 1709 on a MSI GE72 notebook and the update KB4093112 was installing in a loop (7 times). Then I did the upgrade with the Media Creation Tool and everything looks good now.

I got this update today for kb4093112. No matter what I have tried it continues to revert changes back to previous settings. I had to turn off updates to notify only to prevent the reverting loop. I had also tried to download the stand alone installer which had done the same as the windows updater.

    OS: Windows 10 Pro 1709 16299.334 x64 bit
Hardware: AMD FX 8300, 8GB Memory, Motherboard: 970A Gaming Pro Carbon
    Security: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium

  3. We Couldn't Complete The Updates .... Undoing Changes .....

Evidently that OneDrive attempt (above) wasn't good enough either.

Hilariously, out of the blue, a message showed up in the always popular "Action Center" suggesting that Unresolved or Unreported Problems needed investigating..... Well, investigating was initiated, and the result was:
"No Solutions Found -- When solutions are available, they will appear in Security and Maintenance." LOL omg, that is so funny.

Right now, I am psychologically preparing myself for what might be the only solution: Sending this computer on a one-way trip to the landfill (cheaper than hiring a lawyer), and divorcing myself completely and for good from computing and the internet.

I will give the OneDrive instructions another try, but there are also other life-matters to be addressed, and besides, I have to reboot (and all the rest), and most importantly, psych-up for it first.

We Couldn't Complete The Updates .... Undoing Changes .....

Am I to conclude that, since there is no response, there is no solution?

If that is true .... if the answer to that is "Yes," then Microsoft has succeeded in turning my less-than-1-year-old, $1300 computer into a pile of useless trash, because that is exactly what it is at this point.

If this was the year 1986, or 1996, or even 2000, I would not be surprised by this sort of problem. But after all these years and all those prior Windows OS versions, and all those updates, and all the learning curves, and all the Billions of dollars
that have changed hands for it all, I would think that, by now, this sort of
    nonsense
    would be a non-issue.

If there was third-party software involved, I would not be surprised by this sort of problem. But this is Microsoft updating its own OS product.

    By my definition:

Malware is any software that seizes control of a system with a view towards its own ends, and in so doing negatively impacts the use of the system by the owner/user/customer. And by that definition, it is Microsoft-generated malware that is to blame
    for this problem.

Now, in addition to this Update problem, (and I have to believe that with all these over-lengthy update failures, reboots and “undos”), IE is not working properly either.
It, apparently, is bogged-down in long-running scripts, the source(s) of which are predictably and utterly unknown and undefined, and this despite my having turned debugging of scripts off.
At this point, I can’t even access my email due to IE being as bad as it is. The only way I was able to access this page is because I had copied and pasted this web address in a Word doc prior to getting as bad as it is, and was transported here via
    Edge.

"We Couldn't Complete The Updates...." ……. Really ??

Who, pray tell, is "We"? Because I would appreciate it if “Theywould fix this problem rather than cite it.

Microsoft is pointedly silent on all of this; taking responsibility for Nothing; offering No help or solution to that which is uniquely
Their problem; and deferring to the advice and input of voluntary others to somehow work around reports and complaints of it.

I am quite aware that there are MANY other user/owner/customers experiencing this same problem, and one wonders if Microsoft gives a damn. The apparent answer to that is, unfortunately, "No."

Congratulations but can you expand on Step 1 ? You ran the 'Upgrade This PC' option or created ISO and did an In-place Repair install with the ISO or usb ? Thanks, lots of people with failed updates want to know.
