    KB4551762 and KB4541335 refuse to install on Windows 10 Version 1909 Build 18363.693


    Hello all,


    The last 3 days, I have tried to install the KB4541335 but always got the same error: 0x800f0988.


    Same result for the installation of KB4551762.


    The troubleshooter from Windows 10 didn't find any problem.


    Runing following commands as an admni didn't help either:


    net stop wuauserv & net stop cryptSvc & net stop bits & net stop msiserver
    Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
    net start wuauserv & net start cryptSvc & net start bits & net start msiserver


    I even tried this:

    DISM /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

    Still not working.


    What am I missing here?

    Received notice, on my computer, that I needed to take the free update to windows 10 before my current version expired.

    I updated, the whole OS on 02/23/2020. Specs:= 1909, 18363.657, Build 18363. I now CANNOT change my default browser identification. Microsoft Edge is set as default, surprise, and I can't seem to change it to anything else, e.g. Firefox

    Suggestions???
