    KB4566782 Update Loop

My laptop is running Windows 10 2004 OS build 19041.388 and windows update decides to automatically install cumulative update KB4566782 build 19041.450. The installation will fail 0x800f081f during updating Windows and Windows update automatically retry to install it until my laptop's battery dies.

How get out of this update loop?

    :)

  2. KB4566782 Cumulative Update Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.450 - Aug. 11 Win Update

That's the next best thing to try after resetting Windows Update.
I don't event bother anymore with the latter in most cases; I will go straight to the in-place upgrade which, based on my past experience, can save you lots of time.

BTW, done and dusted for KB4566782. I will wait after using the PC for a day or two to see if there are any bugs to report.

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond KB4566782 Update Loop :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
