KB5003254 cannot update this particular KB, getting (0x800f0900)

I have Windows 10 Pro N. My computer crashed in the middle of this update: 2021-05 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64 (KB5003254) Getting this error msg in the update center: There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x800f0900) I tried everything I thought *could* work, but to no avail :/ (and yes, I did restart the PC after these, to no avail) This one here said it repaired something: SFC /SCANNOW Then ran: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth As for the DISM.... restore health one: Error: 0x800f081f The source files could not be found. Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=243077. The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log In any event, I also downloaded the actual file I was trying to install 2021-05 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows Server, version 20H2 for x64 (KB5003254) Found here: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft...aspx?q=5003254 Yup, I checked to make sure I was downloading the correct version. But it gives me this error when installing: The following updates were not installed: Update for Windows (KB5003254) But... the thing is, this update is the one I am trying to install, but according to Windows, it's not even installed. It failed installing multiple times. Tried this using an elevated command prompt wusa /uninstall /KB:5003254 /quiet /warnrestart Didn't to do anything, nor did any prompts subsequently appeared So, I subsequently did this: net stop wuauserv net stop cryptSvc net stop bits net stop msiserver Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old net start wuauserv net start cryptSvc net start bits net start msiserver Then, these were the results: C:\WINDOWS\system32>net stop wuauserv The Windows Update service is stopping.
