Windows 10: KB5012170 fails to install error 0x800f0922

Ok had some updates failing to install. Could not get them punched through so I went ahead and did a fresh install of win 10 pro. Machine is a dell precision t5810 with bios and drivers fully up to date. After getting all my drivers set up I went to windows update and some went through. Got stuck on KB5012170. I have used the built in troubleshooter and downloaded a service stack prerequisite and It has not helped. I have also manually downloaded the update from microsoft update catalog and it will not install. I have not installed any other software so this is a brand new clean install. Her

Run the .bat file as instructed but did not solve the issue.




I will now try the Windows Installation Media and see if that helps.

Issue resolved by creating Windows 10 installation media





and installing Windows 10

Is the Update bothering you? If not then just ignore it and it will eventually get installed. If it's bothering you then you can try installing it from Updates catalog here:
