Windows 10: KB5018418 and KB5018483 will not install.

I've tried all the routines mentioned for other Cumulative install issues with no success. I cleared over 20 gb of drive space becasue I worried that space was an issue. Can anyone help? Windows 11

Open Control Panel

Under Programs, select Uninstall a program

Click View installed updates

Under Microsoft Windows, find KB5018483 update in the list

If it is in the list, then it has been installed successfully.

I have been receiving this error when trying to install the KB5018483 update. It apparently fails at 97% during the restart and has done this three times, once from the update page in Settings and the other twice when installed manually from the update catalogue. The Windows Update page shows this:





But in the update history just below that, it shows this:





The event viewer has two entries regarding this. The first one is:

Windows update "Update for Windows (KB5018483)" was successfully installed. (Command line: ""C:\WINDOWS\system32\wusa.exe" "C:\Users\alan\Desktop\windows10.0-kb5018483-x64_f3ec5802a2445a46703e4b5b879571f4cf0f9d17.msu" ")

and the second:

Package KB5018483 failed to be changed to the Installed state. Status: 0x800f0922

I have tried running the update troubleshooter which found nothing amiss, reinstalling all the features of the .NET Framework, switching off the Windows Firewall, switching off my antivirus, checking that all the appropriate services are set to 'automatic' and are running, deleting the contents of the Software Distribution folder and resetting the update components. None of these actions had any effect in preventing the apparent failure at 97% during the restart process of the update.

So which is it? Has this package installed or hasn't it and if it has, is there going to be an issue with subsequent updates if this one is reporting as not installed?

My system is:

Windows 11 Ver. 21H2

16Gb RAM

68GB free space on the SSD system drive
