Windows 10: KB5022834 - WINDOWS 10 UPDATE NOT INSTALLING - AMD64 vs X64 system

Windows 10 Version 22H2 (KB5022834) will not update - amd64 install on x64

Update KB5022834 does not install on my PC and performs a rollback after restart.

Having looked through the CBS logs I can see that the x64 version of the update is using the amd64 architecture to perform the installation. I have an Intel i5-13600K CPU.

I have taken the x64 installer from the Microsoft Update Catalog and found that it also tries to install for the amd64 architecture.

Hope this helps identify the issue and root cause in the update.

Also, as machine history is important (and may be relevant to the registry with old PC history):

The OS install was originally a Win7 Ultimate on an Intel CPU machine.

Transferred to a new PC ~10 years ago via bare metal restore (an Intel 4770K)

May have had a full OS reinstall during this period

Transferred to a current PC ~2 months ago via bare metal restore (Intel i5-13600K)

The OS has never been installed on an AMD CPU.

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) will not install

Anyone else having problems getting the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) installed? This update has been failing for me & doing a failed to update after downloading & reboot, then rebooting & removing the update.

V 10.0 build 10240
