  2. Laptop Camera

Thanks for updating us on the results of the troubleshooting steps that you have completed. Since the built-in webcam is still not working correctly and the same error code 0xA00F4244 (0xC00DABED) is still appearing, we suggest that we check the camera privacy
settings to see if the camera access is turned on. Kindly follow the steps below to check the camera privacy settings:

    • Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
    • Near the top of the Settings app window is the search box, kindly type the word "webcam" or "camera".
    • From the list of results choose Camera privacy settings.
    • Make sure that "Let apps use my camera" toggle is set to On.

We look forward to your response once you complete the steps.

  3. KB5022845 slows my computer a LOT

I'm going to try and be as clear as I can.

My computer is a new build, made in January 2023. It works SUPER GREAT, everything works great. I'm using capital letters so you cannot miss that my computer works SUPER GREAT.

When I had two updates: KB5022845 & KB5022497, my computer got REAL SLOW (all caps again - I want to make sure you get this).

    Starting at the login screen:

Before the updates, my cursor would show up immediately, and the blurb about the picture would also show up immediately, the one that asks "Do you like this picture?"

After the updates, the cursor & blurbs would take FOREVER to show up.

Before the updates I had two programs starting up really, really, really, really fast - one is a stickies program and the other is a calendar program.

After the updates, these two programs would take forever to show on my desktop.

Now. If I uninstall KB5022845, everything goes back to normal, and my computer runs SUPER GREAT.

I installed and uninstalled KB5022845 - THREE times, just to prove to myself that it is affecting my computer. It went like this after multiple install/uninstalls.

    SUPER SLOW

    SUPER GREAT

    SUPER SLOW

    SUPER GREAT

    SUPER SLOW

    SUPER GREAT

Have you guys had similar complaints about KB5022845? Are there solutions or do I have to kill all updates going forwards?

I don't mean to sound snide, but I really don't think System File Checker, killing startup apps, or any of the normal steps are going to help me here - the culprit is KB5022845 - not a single doubt in my mind.

    Laptop Camera

Thanks for providing the results after completing the steps we provided. Since you're still getting the error message “Your camera cannot be found” along with the error code "0xA00F4244 (0xC00DABED)", we suggest that you follow the steps below
to reset the Camera app on your Windows 10 computer:

    • Press the Windows Key + I to open the Settings app.
    • From the options presented select System, then click on
      Apps & features
      located on the left pane.
    • Locate the Camera app from the list and select it.
    • Select the Advanced options link and then choose Reset.
    • When the pop-up notification is shown just click on the Reset
      button once more.
    • Once all the steps are complete, kindly reboot your computer.

Completing this steps will clear the cache of the Camera app and allow it to re-recognize any video capture devices connected to your computer.

    Regards.
