    Installed:



    2024-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5036893) (April 10)

    2024-04 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 23H2 for x64 (KB5036620) (April 10)

    2024-04 .NET 7.0.18 Security Update for x64 Client (KB5037337) (April 10)



    Uninstall updates:



    KB5036035 (April 10)

    35th is not in the "installed" list but available for uninstall. So weird...

    Windows 11 updates fail

    Hi,

    For

    2024-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5036893)

    I get

    Install error - 0x800705b9

    and for

    2024-04 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 23H2 for x64 (KB5036620)

    I get

    Install error - 0x800700c1

    Windows Update Troubleshooter fails to fix it.

    I tried the suggestion here:

    Redirecting

    which put my computer into BSOD loop during boot!

    Windows auto recovery could not fix it. System restore also failed.

    I had to go into recover mode and restore the two folders

    C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 from the command line to be able to boot again.

    I also downloaded these updates separately and tried to install them, both of which also failed.

    Any suggestions?
