I am approaching my limit with this three year old laptop and earlier this year a broken update also gave me this same 0x80073701 but it resolved itself... 2 months afterWhat am I even supposed to do? I don't want to reinstall windows or anything like that, the 3 other updates that came along today installed perfectly fine besides KB5044273

    Update error 0x80073701

    Running Window 11 Professional.

I've tried several times, but the latest Windows 11 update
(KB5014668) keeps failing with error 0x80073701.

A web site suggested I try clean booting. I tried it. It didn't help.

So I'm writing to ask if anyone has any suggestions to fix that
inability to update error 0x80073701 .

    Upgrade to Windows 10

Also try setupdiag.exe as I suggested

And consider other elements of my previous post. Good luck.
