    KB5048667 applied - scanner still not available


    We had installed Windows 11 24H2 and our scanners stopped being usable. We researched the issue and found that there was a known issue in 24H2.KB5048667 is supposed to resolve this USB/scanner issue. We have applied this update and restarted the computers. We are still unable to scan.On our Fujitsu scanners, for example, we get the error message - No scanner is found SX03047E. The scanner shows up in Device Manager as an Imaging device.

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

    Hi Jean,

    To get better clarity on the issue, kindly answer the questions below:

    • Is the scanner detected under Devices?
    • Were you able to see the scanner on the Device Manager?
    • Have you installed the latest driver for the scanner?

    We suggest you to run the troubleshooter for hardware and devices. To do this, follow the steps:

    • On the Start menu, type Troubleshooting and hit enter.
    • Choose Hardware and Sound.
    • Select Hardware and Devices and run the troubleshooter.

    If issue persists, we suggest you contact the manufacturer to get better assistance.

    Thank you for posting your concern in Microsoft Community and welcome to the Windows 10 Family.

    From the description provided, I understand that Windows is unable to configure the drivers for the scan device.

    As an initial recommendation, I would suggest you to install the drivers for the scan device in compartibility mode and check with the results.

    Follow the steps to install the drivers for the device in compatibility mode.


    • Download the latest available drivers from the manufacturer’s website.

    • Right-click on the setup file of the installation package and click on "Properties".

    • Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select previous Operating System from the drop down.

    • Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.
    Also, I would suggest you to perform Windows update to look for up to date available Windows drivers for devices on your computer.
