Windows 10: KB5055 failure

Computer lost wifi & Ethernet connections after KB5055518. Even I try to remove this security update and theb paise installations for the next 7 days,It keeps trying to install the package again after rebooting computer.Installation goes to 30%, screen goes gray for a moment and laptop reboot. Then it goes quickly steps to 100% and tells that installation was unsuccessful..removing it..don't restart computer..And then when I go back to install history, it appears there again. So how can I manually remove this package after removal, so that I could restore my working laptop back?This is HP

To help you with your concern regarding the reset failure, let me suggest you to do a startup repair. Kindly follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key
• Hold Shift key then click Restart
• You'll be prompted to the Advance Startup Options
• Select Troubleshoot
• Advanced options
• Startup repair

SSD Failure


Last year I replaced an aging hard drive in my Mum's pc with a slightly less aging OCZ Vertex 2 SSD.

This morning she was using the pc just fine then left it until this evening when it suddenly would not boot and reported sata drive failure.

Perhaps I shouldn't be too disappointed considering it was last generation technology.

What should be my first steps in diagnosing this fault? If the drive has failed I may as well suggest it be replaced with a more modern one which I'm sure has better longevity. I have an external drive reader which can take any sata device. This should allow me to see if the data is accessible.

In my own rig I have a Samsung 840 EVO 250 which has served me well so I may suggest she gets the same unless you guys have alternative suggestions.

It was impossible to tell from your initial post whether you could even get into Windows because of all the failure you described. Therefore to be absolutely thorough I gave you how to recover if you couldn't get Windows started.

I also included the check list for overcoming version failures which works from for 90% of those who try the steps.
