    Jessen,

You have made a mistake. The Windows Defender definitions update is KB2267602.

The OP is asking about a different update - KB890830

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

    Danae,

I only butted in because I could see that you were both talking at cross-purposes.

Generally, you can check update histories both in Control panel, Programs & features, Installed updates and in Settings, Update, Advanced options, View your update history**. Some updates can be listed in both places but some are only listed in one of them,
    it varies.

[** while you are there you'll probably notice the long list of KB2267602 updates with their definition numbers that Jessen had intended to refer to.]

In this case, I think you ought to ignore the whole thing. The

    Malicious Software Removal Tool
is not Windows 10 compatible as you'll see from the link. If you look at

    the update's information page
then you'll see that there is a general untidiness & inconsistency in its references to Windows 10 [to Windows 10 Preview] that betrays a shambolic support team failing to grapple with the new OS being released six months earlier
    than they expected.

There is no solid basis upon which you can base any remedial action so you'd just be stabbing wildly in the dark. You cannot even try going back to Settings, Update, Advanced options, View your update history and clicking the link to Uninstall
updates at the top of the page. That merely opens up the Control panel, Programs & features, Installed updates list and this particular update does not appear in that list.

Sorry to be so negative but that's the situation.
