Windows 10: Keep getting BSODs even with new windows install

I've been trying to fix the Blue Screens on my brother's computer for a few days now, and still can't stop the BSODs. I assumed it was a driver issue with his AMD 5700 XT. After much trouble I did a fresh install of Windows from a USB and installed the required drivers before Windows Update could get at them. His PC originally started Blue Screening after updating past version 20.12.1 for the AMD display drivers so that is what I am running right now. I have had no problems with the fresh install the past two days until this morning. I had a BSOD when starting the PC up. Sorry I only have one dump right now, I'll be gaming today to try to make another one happen. They seem to happen randomly when starting up, or using applications like Steam, Chrome, or games. I'm going crazy trying to figure this out so any help is appreciated! windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

That could be it. Just a suggestion, never do any hardware driver updates via Windows update in the future, just download the critical updates and leave it at that. When thats done then install hardware drivers that you got from the manufacturer's site.

 

multiple BSOD's without installing new drivers; windows update?

i don't know where all these BSOD's are coming from.
i haven't changed hardware & i haven't installed any software with drivers since these started.
i checked the windows update list & didn't readily see an update suggesting new drivers were installed.
i've tried to look into the situation myself using a program called 'whocrashed' but i didn't get far.
