Windows 10: Keep getting different error codes for Window Updates

Hi, so the past 2-3 months maybe longer things on my laptop Windows 10 just haven't been working properly... things won't download or update from the Microsoft App store and many applications just refuse to work Onenote is always crashing or deleting stuff and Onedrive has been stuck in a never ending loop of 'loading' or 'signing in' for a few months now no matter what I try. I actually realised that something maybe wrong because Minecraft wouldn't work and refused to update yeah yeah go ahead and laugh along with most of my other applications. I manually checked for updates for my computer after a mate said that maybe I needed to update my computer first and it turns out there is quite a few that keep saying they run into errors when they go to download.


These are the updates that showed up when I made my computer check for updates.


2021-01 Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64-based Systems

2021-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64-based Systems ERROR: 0x80244018

2021-02 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64

Update for Removal of Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64-based systems

There is also a feature update that won't download and as of current says - error 0x80244018


Thing is, for those top ones I have had 3 different error codes now after multiple download attempts! The others are error 0x80d02002 and error 0x8024402c. This third one that is now also showing 0x80244018 is after I ran Windows Update Troubleshooter this morning and it says that it had tried solving the issues it found. No dice. Also once I get it to start trying to download the updates, I literally leave it for a day and a half running because it takes a LONG time. It usually stays at 0% downloaded for most of the time, then a few hours after it hits 1% if it ever even does it'll have an error code.


I'm not super sure what is happening to it, I've looked at other threads for the specific error codes but because I've had different ones after each attempt I'm not sure what actions to take in order to fix it. Should I just take it to a repair shop and get a professional to look into it? I would rather not, if this is an issue that can be fixed by myself I would rather not have to spend the money. But if this is something strange that requires a professional then I'll just take it in.


I'm hoping that if this is resolved then the Microsoft store and application issues may be resolved too.

Windows 10 will not activate Error code 0x803F7001

Possibly there can be the problem with Microsoft activation Server, so your Windows 10 is not activated. In this scenario, you need to wait and verify if it is the issue from Microsoft’s side. But if you are getting error code 0x803f7001, you can also try these steps:

1. Open Settings app. Then go to Update and security > Activation screen > Change product.
2. Type your Windows edition product key and click Next.
3. You’ll get We couldn’t activate Windows error message.
4. Retry steps 1-3 then type your 25-characters unique product key.
5. Wait for the process to complete, Windows 10 is activated.

Thank you for posting to the forum regarding your update error. At this point, I will provide some basic troubleshooting and request more information. There is no documentation or mention of this specific error by other customers. Please verify the following:

• What is the exact error code and message included?
• Where do you receive this error, on the PC, on the phone, in the Zune software, etc...?
• What is the current OS running on your phone, tap settings > about > more info?
• What is the OS running on your PC?

As for general troubleshooting, try the steps in this article,
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2484484?wa=wsignin1.0. As there is no mention of your error code I do suggest you review all the steps in this article. I would start with the steps for error code 801812C1 as this is the closest code I could find to the
one posted.



If you continue to have this error after trying the above steps, please attempt the update from another PC connected to a different network. If you can we would also suggest you use another sync cable.
