    Keep my laptop's screen in fullscreen mode when resolution is reduced


    My laptop's screen is 1080p Full HD, and sometimes I need to reduce the resolution from 1080p to 720p. But when it's happened, my monitor appears big black bars on four sides. This happens every time the resolution is reduced like playing GTA V. Even this happens when I reduce the resolution in Settings. Can you help me pls?My display setting:

    Radeon HD 6990 - not playable in full screen mode

    CCC 11.2 display driver is not compatible, the screen native resolution (1920 / 1200) wasn't in the resolution list.

    CCC 11.3 works the same way as 11.4, works fine in windowed mode and windowed fullscreen (e.g. no border) but in full screen mode I get non-stop flickering. *Frown Keep my laptop's screen in fullscreen mode when resolution is reduced :(

    The flickering happens with and without vertical sync enabled.

    Edit: tried fraps in another game with the same result - the flickering is showing in game but not in the recorded video.

    Hi,

    We suggest you to update the Display Adapter Drivers.

    Step 1: Update the Display Adapter driver.

    • Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapter.
    • Right on the Display Adapter and click on Update driver software.

    Step 2: Kindly follow the below steps to change the resolution of the screen and check:


    • Type Change screen resolution in the Search box from the desktop.

    • Under Resolution search for the Recommended resolution and click on Apply.

    • A windows pops up saying "Keep these display settings", then select Keep changes.


    There will be a recommended resolution for all the computers, and if you select more than the recommended resolution the screen would not support for that.

    I would like suggestions and look in local stores. I dont wanna buy a laptop from someone online. Sorry. But could be a good idea if you asked him about the performance on older games. Gonna make a list ofall laptops people suggest me.

    Remove the screen for space purpose here its small desk and if the screen is opened it will hide my 22 inches lcd
