    Keep unsigned driver, in windows 10


    I have a firewire device ctrlmixer/soundcard Tascam FW-1884 with drivers made for XP i think, it will not work with a modern driver. I had to install a OHCI firewire legacy driver to make it work and then install the Tascam driver in unsigned compability mode.

    Then it works, but after a or some reboots, Windows 10 remove the driver?

    Is there a way to "lock the registry?" so that Windows 10 do not remove it.
    I really would like to use the old Tascam mixer with Windows 10.

    Hi Dyllan,

    Since you have tried many troubleshooting methods with no luck, we recommend you to boot Windows 10 with
    driver signature enforcement disabled. To do so, kindly follow these steps:

    • Restart your PC while holding down Shift.
    • On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot.
    • Select Advanced options and click Startup Settings.
    • Click Restart to restart your PC into the Startup Settings screen.
    • Press 7 or F7 at the Startup Settings screen to activate
      Disable driver signature enforcement mode.
    • Driver signature enforcement is now disabled and it will remain disabled until you enable it back on the
      Advance boot option.

    Let us know if this enables you to install unsigned drivers.

    You might try this:

    Installing Unsigned Drivers by Disabling Integrity Checks
    To disable integrity checks:
    STEP 1: Open the Command Prompt as admin from the Power User menu, then execute the command: bcdedit /set nointegritychecks off
    STEP 2: After executing the command, restart your PC, and then proceed in installing the unsigned driver for your system.
    STEP 3: To re-enable integrity check, execute the below command as an admin in the command prompt: bcdedit /set nointegritychecks on
    STEP 4: When you get the message saying the operation was successful, restart your system and you’re good to go.
