Windows 10: Keeping iCloud password extension signed in on Edge

I'm using Edge on a Win 11 machine. I have added the Cloud extension to sync passwords with my iphone which works fine. However, EVERY time I open the browser, to use it, I have to type in a 6 digit code given by the icloud app. I must enter it 100 times a day! Is there no way to keep it signed in or to auto sign in when you open Edge? There don't appear to be any settings to address this.

iCloud for Windows app iCloud Passwords for Edge extension not working

This issue is perplexing to me. I have iCloud for Windows 14.2 installed via Microsoft Store on Win11 Pro 22H2 (OS Build 22621.1848), using MS Edge (version 114.0.1823.51) Official Build 64 bit. I am able to use the app just fine except for the iCloud Passwords for Edge (1.3.93) extension. Whenever I click on the extension in Edge I am presented with the following message:





This has worked in the past. A few weeks ago, the iCloud for Windows app started giving me an error something along the lines of "Request could not be completed", or something to that effect. I had uninstalled and reinstalled the app at this point, and that's when the Edge extension issue shown above started. Things I have tried:

• Uninstalling/reinstalling iCloud for Windows via Microsoft store
  
• Signing out/back into my Apple ID via iCloud for Windows app
  
• Removing the PC from the list of devices in my iCloud account
  
• Ensuring the same Apple ID is being used to sign in as my other devices
  
• Disabling/enabling the passwords option in iCloud for Windows app
  
• Removing/Adding iCloud Passwords for Edge extension
  
• Performing Microsoft Edge repair via Settings > Apps
  
• Creating secondary local Windows profile to replicate the issue
  
• Disabling antivirus and firewall software (Norton 360)
  
• Contacting Apple Support (it seems they just want to collect logs)
  
• Attempting to recreate the issue on a identically configured second Windows 11 PC (was successfully able to use iCloud passwords extension on 2nd PC)
