Windows 10: Keeping windows on the screen I want when pluging/unpluging monitors

Hi,

I've 2 computers, a classic desktop (personal) and a laptop (for work).

I've 2 monitors, one for my desktop, and one the I share between my desktop and my laptop with a KVM switch (depending on which PC I need to control).

When I remove a monitor (leaving either the laptop or the desktop with only one screen left), all the windows goes to that only screen (which is normal), but when I switch again and get the screen back, the windows stays where they were.

Would it be possible to keep track of where everything is when there's 2 screens, put everything on the same screen when there's only one, and then put everything back where it was when I plug the second screen again ?

?Mount ext drive without unpluging/pluging?

I use it all the time. AHCI mode for hot swapping sata.

Rt click the Hotswap! icon:






Left click the icon and scan for hardware changes:





In a few seconds, you will see the driver installing.

Rt click again - now you see it - this is a usb stick.

 

Why is everything so big if the monitor gets unplugged?

I haven't tried any of these suggestions, but the monitor coming unplugged happens when the computer is off. I walk past the computer a lot and there's really not a good way, if I step on the duct tape, to prevent the monitor from coming unplugged.
