  1. KernalBase.dll causing programs to crash

Small backstory: two nights ago I reinstalled GTA V from Steam and played with it with mods. Yesterday I couldn't play at all, and one of the crash logs referenced KernalBase.dll. I didn't have the time to look into it at 1:30 in the morning so I slept on it.

Flash forward to today and both Wallpaper Engine and MCC crash out referencing the same dll.

I've tried to register it but I get an error that it failed to load because the module can't be found (even though it's still in SysWoW64)

    sfc /scannow turns up nothing.

What are my next steps besides re-installing Windows?

    .DLL file

    Hi Jerry,

Specific programs use DLL files to function properly in a Windows environment. If the DLL file gets misplaced, deleted, or corrupted, the error "____.dll is missing" appears. We'd like to learn more about your concern so that we could provide
the proper resolution. We just have a few questions for you:

    • Which build version of Windows 10 is on your computer? To check, click
      Start
, type winver, and press Enter. For example, 14393.1066.
    • Did you make any changes to your computer before this started happening, like installing or uninstalling a program?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

As an initial recommendation, we suggest that you disable your Startup programs to isolate the cause of the error. To do this, follow these steps:

    • Right-click the taskbar and select Task Manager.
    • Click More details.
    • Go to the Startup tab.
    • Right-click every listed program and choose Disable.
    • Restart your computer and check if the issue persists.
    • If the error disappears, enable one of the programs and restart your computer to check if the error reappears; this is to pinpoint exactly which program is causing the error. Do this for all Startup programs until you find the cause.
    • Once you've found the program that's causing the error, you can then try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

We'll wait for your response and the results of the troubleshooting.

    ----

If you think this was useful, you may "mark it as an answer" to help those who are facing the same problem.

  3. MSVCR100.dll keeps causing a word processing program to crash

Just over a month ago, I upgraded to Word Perfect X9. At least once a day, while I am in the middle of a novel editing session, it crashes.

An investigation of Event Viewer's Applications log keeps identifying the faulting module as MSVCR100.dll. For tonight's crash Event Viewer supplied the following general information:

Faulting application name: wpwin19.exe, version: 19.0.0.325, time stamp: 0x5af8e313

Faulting module name: MSVCR100.dll, version: 10.0.40219.325, time stamp: 0x4df2be1e

    Exception code: 0xc0000005

    Fault offset: 0x00002357

    Faulting process id: 0xec

    Faulting application start time: 0x01d4a64e5d3dc598

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\WordPerfect Office X9\Programs\wpwin19.exe

    Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCR100.dll

    Report Id: 9c9121a5-f9bf-432d-ad1e-d121e036aea8

What is this module's function? Why is it causing problems only with this one program? More importantly, can it be fixed?

    D3D11.DLL Crash

    Hello Steve,

Sorry for the inconvenience you are facing. Can you share when exactly are you getting this error?

D3d11.dll errors are most commonly caused when two programs share the same .dll file. When a program is deleted sometimes it will delete the .dll file associated with both programs. Errors can also occur from a faulty d3d11.dll file or incorrect versions
of the file. I suggest you to uninstall the programs you have installed recently and check if you get the error.

Let us know how it goes.
