    GameInput crashing my pc

Hello Theo, sorry about your problems. My name is Marco and I will do my best to help you.

To address the issue of Microsoft GameInput causing crashes on your PC, there are several strategies you can employ to either disable or permanently remove GameInput.

You can try disabling the "GameInput Host Service" via the Services application (services.msc). This has been suggested as a potential fix but might not be a permanent solution as updates could re-enable the service.

It's important to note that some of these solutions might impact the functionality of certain games or services, such as Xbox Game Pass.

Otherwise, to remove it completely, you can consult this forum where several suggestions are posted.

1909-GameInput Redis. Crashes caused by Windows?

    Hi

I built my PC earlier this month with all new parts (R5 3600, AMD 5700XT, Corsair SF600 Platinum) and have been having issues from day one. The issue is that in games, occasionally and not repeatably games will hang/black screen, audio will continue and then PC will hard reboot without BSOD. I can have hours of stability or minutes and it does not appear to be connect with GPU load or heat as my temps are fine and it happens in games with <50% GPU load.

I have reached a point where I am almost convinced it's my GPU and AMD driver issues but in interest of completeness I've been trying to eliminate all other options. I have so far tested CPU- fine under load, PSU-survives OCCT power test over prolonged period, Memory- MemTest (one stick is faulty and I am RMAing the kit but for now I am running the one 8GB stick that passes).

In my testing I have noted that in Reliability Monitor, along with crash info, almost every reboot I am getting 'GameInput Redistributable 'successful application reconfiguration'. This happens for both hard reboots and elective reboots. Is this normal activity and could it be interfering with either my GPU or Radeon software causing reboots? Information on this software seems scarce online but seems to be part of either MS core gaming software or the Xbox PC app.

I have searched and others appear to be having this issue (possibly after the April cumulative update) but can see no fixes.

I have done the boilerplate SFC and DISM recommendations.

Frequent PC crashes associated with GameInput

    Hi,

I'm having frequent crashes, and from looking at reliability monitor they are all correlated with GameInput either being installed or reconfigured. The most recent was as I was attempting to write this post for the first time. I have tried using system file checker to repair corrupt system files, but it hasn't resolved the issue. I've tried malware scans except a full scan doesn't complete before the system crashes again.

I'm not certain GameInput is causing this, but some action by GameInput (either installation or reconfiguration) is associated with every single crash, and it's the only event in reliability monitor that is correlated with them. Is there a fix or other troubleshooting measure I can take? From internet searches there are lots of suggestions of removing windows components that will be reinstalled at the next update; that hardly seems practical.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
