  1. Kernel Power Error every 30min? No ATI card. Help needed.

What about AMD machines that have Nvidia Graphics cards? I assisted my Aunt with an upgrade to Windows 10 and now her machine is having this problem as well. I have browsed through her display devices remotely in device manager, and I only see the Nvidia. Tried uninstalling that in safe mode, but it did not help. Machine crashes approx. every 30 minutes. Any advice appreciated!

    :)

  2. Kernel Power System Error - NEED HELP!

Is there a reason for not installing the Anniversary Update?

Your Event Viewer System log only shows
one blue screen error since 8 August. All the other crashes are unexpected (Event 41 errors) shutdowns or system failures.

  3. Please help, computer restarting for no reason that I know of.

    Good Day!

It has happened again, however the minidump folder is empty.

I read an error in my event viewer some kernel error, which says it was unexpected and could be about losing power. Could it be that my power supply unit is faulty?

  4. Kernel Power Error every 30min? No ATI card. Help needed.

Try disabling the Nvidia in Device Manager. Then uninstall driver and software. Go to Nvidia Site to download the Win 10 driver for your Nvidia GPU. See if it works.

  5. I am a moderator on the Dell community forums and I wanted to post here. The incorrect AMD video driver was being pushed from Windows update, but that has been corrected now. Windows update should have the correct driver now, or you can download Video_Driver_2D1DC_WN32_15.200.1040.0_A01.EXE from support.dell.com.

Please let me know if the corrected driver helps.

  6. I did try uninstalling the NVidia driver in device manager, but that did not help. Also worth noting, that the driver version matches what is up on Nvidia website for Windows 10.

  7. I figured I should start my own thread. This is for my Aunt's machine who lives 2 states away from me in AZ. I helped her upgrade her computer remotely, and unfortunately after the update, she gets Kernel Power Error every 30 minutes when using her computer. As you can imagine, this is a real inconvenience. I did considerable research online, and found that an unfortunately large number of folks are experiencing this same hassle, though the fix for every other situation I could find, was to disable ATI Catalyst drivers, and reboot. Some went a step further advising to boot into safe mode, and do the same thing.

Unfortunately, my Aunt's machine has an Nvidia graphics card, not an AMD/ATI, and although I did try disabling the Nvidia card in safe mode, it did not help. She is having the same problem after taking that step. I am hoping some bright person in these forums has another suggestion I might take with her. I also wonder if calling Microsoft for help might bear some fruit. As I mentioned, we live 2 states away, so time when I can work on her machines means both of us have to be avail (not easy). She is not a tech savvy person, although she is smart enough to know how to launch teamviewer to get me in remotely. I thought maybe of doing that, and then calling Microsoft, but I have not called Microsoft for support in like 10 years, so I have no sense of what that might look like.

    Any help appreciated!!
