    "Kernel Power Event ID 41 63" reported into the Event Viewer


    Hi, for few weeks now I have a problem with my PC restarting without any warningm there is no BSOD, just instant restarts. It happens in video games, but there is no scheme to that, sometimes PC restarts after few minutes, sometimes it doesn't after hours of work. My PC was in computer service for 2 weeks, but IT guys from there couldn't find the problem. Temperatures are ok, basic tests of components went ok too. I reinstalled clean system three times, but there is still same problem.     Hello,

    Thank both of you for your answers,

    Just to summarize: there is no crash. I do not have crash on shut down. I do not have crash on boot. I do no have crash at all. My computer shuts down (apparently) without any issue. Then, on next boot-up (which is happening flawlessly), I have the message
    in my Event Viewer. That's why I titled my post "False Kernel Power Event ID 41 (63) reported" "Kernel Power Event ID 41 63" reported into the Event Viewer ;)

    I will dig through the Event Viewer to see if there is anything related to that (false) event. If I did not find anything (i.e. if this is beyond my understanding) I post the dump of it here.

    In-order to get more clarity on this issue and to assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, reply with answers to the below questions:

    1. Are you aware of any changes made on your PC, prior to this issue?
    2. Is this issue specific while playing a particular game?
    3. Which edition of Windows are you currently using?

    A Kernel Power Event 41 can occur in the following scenarios.

    Scenario 1: The computer restarts, and there is a Stop error BugcheckCode in the event data.

    Scenario 2: The computer is shut down by pressing and holding the power button.

    Scenario 3: The system randomly restarts and no Stop error BugcheckCode is listed, or the computer is completely unresponsive (hard hang).

    I suggest you refer the article on Kernel
    Power Event ID 41     and follow the steps for the scenario that is causing this error on your PC.

    Additionally, you can refer the article on Windows
    Kernel event ID 41 error "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first" in Windows
    and check if that helps.
