    Kernel Power ID41 - Windows 10

I started having random crashes through out game plays or just being on Chrome and everything suddenly froze followed by black screen never BSOD and self restart. It has done that same day 3 times.

DescriptionThe system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

ID41 Kernel Power errors after updating to Windows 10 1709

    Hi Grosso,

Event ID 41 error is due to improper computer shut down or restart that possibly corrupted the system files and
    the Master Boot Records (MBR).

I recommend that you run these troubleshooting and see if there are any changes:

    Run SFC Scan:

    To run an
    SFC scan, follow these steps:

    • Access
      Command Prompt as Administrator.

    • Run
      sfc /scannow
      and hit
      Enter.

    Run DISM Tool:

    To perform
    DISM, follow these steps:

    • Access
      Command Prompt as Administrator.

    • Run the following command:

      • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /scanhealth

      • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    NOTE:
This might take a while to finish scanning.
Do not cancel (after running SFC and DISM Tool, run SFC again 3 times).

If there are no corrupted or damaged system files found. Move on in repairing the Master Boot Records (MBR). To
    do this, follow these steps:

    • Access
      Command Prompt as Administrator.

    • Type the following command:

      • bootrec /scanos

      • bootrec /fixMBR

      • bootrec /fixBoot

      • bootrec /rebuildBCD

    • Restart PC.

If the issue persists, you can also refer to the article entitled
"Windows Kernel event ID 41 error "The system has rebooted without cleanly
    shutting down first" in Windows"
for more information and troubleshooting in regards with this matter.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.

  3. restart and kernel-power event

    Hi,

The kernel power event ID 41 error occurs when the computer is shut down, or it restarts unexpectedly. When a computer that is running Windows starts, a check is performed to determine whether the computer was shut down cleanly. If the computer was not shut
down cleanly, a Kernel Power Event 41 message is generated.

Try this, see if it works for you:

    • Go to "Settings"
    • Select "System"
    • Select "Power and Sleep"
    • Select "Additional Power Settings"
    • Select "Choose what the power buttons do"
    • Select "Change settings currently available"
    • Ensure that "Turn on fast start up" is deselected (unticked)
    • Click on "Save Changes"

Restart your computer after performing the steps.

Let us know if the above steps resolved the issue.

    Kernel-Power ID 41

Hi everyone, I have bought a new PC and since then I have had these BSOD frequently. I have a list of the names of the blue screens as it showed.

I performed a clean installation and installed all drivers, all updated to date.

This is a list of the errors that appeared before the PC rebooted:

    -APC_index_mismatch

-Driver IRQL Not Less Or Equal

    -Driver Power State Failure

    -Kernel Auto Boost Invalid Lock

    -Reference by pointer

In the event viewer the errors appear as "kernel-power ID41", all critical.

I uploaded all the errors that I have, so please take a look. Here's the link Kernel-Power ID41.evtx

I did multiple tests including cpu and ram memory and the results indicate that there are no errors so I don't know what happens here. I suspect the PSU.

    Thanks for the help.
