Windows 10: Kernel_security_check_failure

In such cases Windows Update normally provides drivers for most of the stuff. If however unfixable problems occur the best solution is to go back to the previous OS.

 

Not a choice when Microsoft stops supporting their OS, as they did with 7.

 

For every OS there comes an end to its lifecycle.

 

Built-in obsolescence, Moore's law, and other forms of "progress." And when computers outlast OS - time to use laptop as a television connection. (Maybe.)

 

i am in big trouble.
clean install yesterday and 2x more today.
as u know, i was using w10.

keyboard and mouse (wired & usb) don't work - since 1st install yesterday. Can't install some drivers/have to tweak computer for that & to install software. Beyond my expertise/patience/ability.
been unsuccessfully trying to fix.

ASUS helped me w/drivers, but no luck.
MS didn't even try.
BIG known issue w/Win10.

Spent 13 hrs to no avail and I am very angry & frustrated.
standing & typing on laptop is awful. cannot work this keypad at all.

thought i would install Win7 from disk, but ended up w/ANOTHER W10 installation.
not enuf plan/prepare/native ability (!)

Am sure you believe me: there is no solution. No agreed on fix (MS or anybody), but many Qs..

What happened?

It is hard to provide any support without a few specific details.

What have you tried so far?
The keyboard is built-in as you use a laptop?
What mouse do you use?

Do the drivers work that Windows 10 installs before you install any other software?

 

Couldn't explain because using built-in keyboard and mouse are too painful to type more than a few moments (I'm sorry).
NEW: When playing w/plugs and ports, by partially inserting each device, the red light came on (alive). I grabbed an old USB hub and plugged in both keyboard and mouse. It is now working. Why?
"Wired USB" kb and mouse. $10 wired Logitech.

Not sure how to answer. With Device Mgr open, it's impossible to know the description of six generic USB ports.
Six had yellow marks and drivers were uninstalled and restarted a half-dozen times. Do not know what I'm running on now, either.

Anyway, I lost a full day. Must install Outlook/Office.
I'll fill in details later.

Oh that? That was another corrupted Win10 installation. I actually solved the problem by being observant and clever. Then there were more - many, many, too many more ups and downs. Mostly downs.

Thought you should know that your solution worked. I just went through a horrible nearly four week struggle. Of course, the printer and Notepad issues were also fixed.

I had a range of unforeseen, unforced, and forced errors. I had a million calls with techs - some good, some not. Some helpful.; some harmful. I even visited the Microsoft store - where they were useless. One day I will write a national post sharing my very long and costly debacle. (It's too recent and I want to escape it for a while.)

Win10 is STILL awful. I will remind you that on 6/17 I ran my final data backup and image. It took me until last Tuesday - 7/5 to have an operating and functioning OS. I am still trying to put back my programs and rebuild the missing data. I miss all the little aesthetic tweaks that make my online experiences so lovely. It shouldn't be this hard replacing all the settings/details, but it is.

Thank you for your help. Solved by reinstalling (and reinstalling and upgrading and updating and reinstalling, reinstalling, reinstalling and reinstalling again) Win10. Win10 is the worst OS - evuh.
