Windows 10: Kernelbase.dll Issue

I'm having a problem trying to replace kernelbase.dll with another copy from another identical computer and system.


I've followed all the advice in the post:

But when I try to copy the new kb.dll, I am told it is in use by another process. If I try and delete the old kb.dll, I get told which process is using it, so I have been stopping in Task Manager.


However, I get told that Windows NT BASE API Client DLL is running. Which I can't find out how to stop. I've started W10 in safe mode, but stiil can't copy and get that message.


Seems I need to be in a DOS mode??


So how do I do it please??

DLL Missing

The problem is, that the required DLL is not actually even listed there.
There are just dozens of download adware links from the top to the bottom.

Do let us know the following information to understand and assist you better with this issue:

• How have you installed Windows 10?
• What is the complete error message/ error code of this issue?
• What exactly do you mean by: "my incredimail stoped working"?
• When exactly do you get these errors?

As a workaround, I suggest you to install all the pending updates after upgrade to Windows 10.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.
