Windows 10: key '6' pressing by itself and can log in

3 days ago the has been a spill on my laptop.all of the keyboard does not work besides number 6 and its pressing constantly. I have an usb keyboard but I can't write anything because of the constan stream of 6.I want to log in to uninstall the keyboard function so I dont have any more problems.

Does it stop right at the Toshiba logo and sit there? Will it sit forever til you press a key, or will it eventually work after so long?

 

The 6 key keeps pressing on its own.

This started a few days ago, number 6 key appears as i type .
I got no clue yet what is causing this .

Its really frustrating. and i rarely even press that key.
The key looks clean too .

 

When i press a key, and press the second key while holding down the first key, the second key doesnt work, it happens only in w,e ,;,' and up and left arrow keys

Yes reinstalling will resolve the issue, I suggest you follow the below to uninstall the keyboard and reinstall it.

Step 1:

Go to search box next to Windows icon and type Device Manager

Step 2:

Under Device Manager expand Keyboard

Step 3:

Right-click on listed devices one by one and select Properties

Step 4:

Select the Drivers tab

Step 5:

Click on Uninstall Device

Step 6:

Repeat step 3 to 5 for all listed devices under Keyboards

Step 7:

Restart PC and Windows will automatically install the drivers for keyboard

Step 8:

Verify
