Windows 10: Keybinds are not working

I was cleaning my windows 10 laptop and I forgot to turn it off, while I was cleaning my keyboard but all of a sudden, my volume key binds, was not working. I was listening to music on Spotify on that time and I had to turn it down using the volume key bind but it did not work so i had to use my mouse to do so, even on YouTube, I use F5 to stop a video when I'm watching but it did not work, even to lower it down i use F2 but it didn't, instead it opened a new tap when i pressed F2. basically, the top row of key binds was not working. I have looked at videos on how to fix it but nothing seems t

If so then you must go one step back and check if your key binds survive the sleep state. Create a harmless keybind for notepad.exe, then see what happens.

It probably happens because the targets for the key binds do not exist when Windows wakes up. You can avoid the problem like so:

• Create a folder C:\ExternalDisk
• Place a shortcut for G:\Music into this folder. Name it Music.lnk.
• Create a keybind for C:\ExternalDisk\Music.lnk

Since Music.lnk always exists, your key bind should always work.

Thank you for your help. I did a little but more looking and it turnes out the specific keybind i was trying to disable isnt a windows keybind, its for the alt1 toolkit for runescape. Thank you again
