Windows 10: Keyboard and mouse keeps randomly disconnecting on rear usb ports.

I bought a PC recently and the rear ports have issues with the keyboard and mouse randomly disconnecting. The keyboard that was supplied with the PC as well as one I previously owned and know works and a brand-new name brand keyboard has the same issue. I have tried reinstalling the drivers and that didn't worksee image. I even went so far as returning the PC and buying the exact same PC and it's having the same problem. The USB ports on the front/top of the PC work completely fine. I have a wireless mouse that doesn't have any issues, but the wired mouse does. The first PC the keyboard stop

USB wired keyboard keeps on disconnecting randomly

The USB device icon appears on the status bar, and the keyboard disconnects and reconnects, while the devices stays connected meanwhile (num lock light on), first I thought it to be a device (hardware) issue, bought a new keyboard, changed the USB port, front, back both uninstalled and reinstalled my drivers and did everything suggested in the thread, none of this worked. Meanwhile, when this is happening if I am typing, multiple keystrokes get registered (e.g. nation becomes, natioooon).

USB Ports disconnecting and reconnecting mouse randomly

Hi!

I've had a problem with my USB ports for a few weeks now. Sometimes the mouse disconnects and then reconnects randomly. This usually happens inside games but has also happened while I'm browsing. A few times both my keyboard and mouse disconnects and reconnects
but yesterday it got worse and both disconnected but didnt reconnect but the lights on the keyboard and mouse where still on.

After the first times it happened I updated windows (didn't fix problem). Then I tried going to device manager and power management on root hubs and deselecting "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" (didn't fix problem). I have also
tried going into the power plan and change USB settings to "USB selective suspend setting disabled" (didn't fix problem). I have uninstalled root hubs and restarted the computer (didnt fix problem). However I didn't uninstall every root hub or USB hub option
because I read that for some people the usb ports didn't work at all after that. I have tried the mouse on a different computer and it works without problems I have also tried different ports and both keyboard and mouse has been connected in the USB ports
on the back and the problem persists.

I read that a windows update (KB4074588) could be the problem but I could not find that update on my computer in the updates section under Programs and features.

Keyboard and mouse keep cutting out on different USB ports

I have 2 non standard keyboard + mouse:

Keyboard : Corsair K70

Mouse - Logitech G400

They have their own proprietary software :

Corsair : iCUE

Logitech : Logitech gaming Software

Other hardware : Motherboard = Gigabyte Z68x-UD5-B3 (I think it might be relevant)

Initially:

A while back I started hearing Windows USB disconnect noises randomly. (Keyboard does this when windows turns on as iCue takes over control)

Then eventually Keyboard and mouse would cut out.

At this point the mouse was pluged in via the USB pass-through on the keyboard. Both to USB 2 ports on back of the computer.

I thought maybe it was a keyboard hardware issue.

But when I un-plugged them from those ports into other USB ports - they worked.

But then it started happening again.

Then:

I plugged the mouse direct to a USB port on the pack of the computer - but it would hapen again. Both keyboard and mouse would be knocked out.

Then:

I plugged keyboard into USB 3 port (back)

Mouse into USB 2 port (back)

- it would happen again!

When this happens - I can plug the mouse and keyboard into other ports - and these would work!

But if I plug them back into the ports which they failed on - Windows does the USB connection noise - but no mouse or Keyboard response.

I have tried :

- USB 2 on back

- USB 3 on back

- USB 2 on front

- USB 3 on front

- USB 3 via hub on monitor

Initially - this would seem to work - but now the fault seems to chase them. They will work for a while - but eventually they will fail again.

I have tried other USB keyboards and nice.

If I plug them into the same port as the others died on - nothing.

The issue happens with other keyboard and mice now.

Although the other keyboard doesn't make the USB disconnect noise.

Now instead the mouse movement get's a bit juttery and i know that they will both die a short while after this.

I have tried :

- shutting down iCUE / removing from startup apps - issue still happens.

- shutting down Logitech Game Software - issue still happens.

- changing USB settings so that Windows does not cut power to the devices (have done this in USB, and Human Interaction devices) seemed ok intially - but now keeps happening.

The strange thing is if I plug a different kind of device in e.g. USB stick (storage) into one of the ports the mouse + keyboard have died on - it seems to work. If I reconnect mouse and keyboard there - windows makes the USB connected noise - but no keyboard
mouse functionality.

Initially I thought it might be due to the keyboard hardware, drivers or software - but it happens on another keyboard too, and when I've disabled iCue.

Then thought it might be a USB controller chip / motherboard hardware issue - but my USB 2 + USB 3 are controller by different chips I think.

So am a bit stumped now.

PS All software/windows is up to date.
