Windows 10: Keyboard and mouse won't work after windows 10 update

I recently did an update for Windows 10 but it seems a bit different to a normal update where it installs when you shut down or restart the computer because this update would only install if I restarted the computer.


Anyway, I installed it and when it finished I go to log in and my mouse and keyboard aren't working. I've tried swapping ports, restarting, unplugging everything else and then restarting, I've gone into advanced troubleshooting mode and even entered safe mode, but still it doesn't work. I'm basically stuck on the login screen.


For extra context I have RGB mouse, headphones and keyboard and on start-up they start flashing as they normally do but then just before the login screen pops up they turn off their lights. And yes all their drivers were up to date and were working perfectly fine before the update.


I'm out of options other than a fresh install which I really don't want to do, please help... -_-

• Pres Windows+X key on your keyboard.
• Select Device Manager.
• Locate the mouse and keyboard drivers, right click, then click on Update.
