Windows 10: keyboard and touchpad are disabled. Cannot to anything. cannot get to control panel to...

Fooling around with my Surface 2 and I disabled both the keypad and the touchpad.. My external mouse and keyboard don't work either. Now I cannot get to the control panel to turn then back on. Can anyone help a 75 year old dummy? Thanks!

If your laptop has a touchpad utility software, you may check if it has an option to disable the touchpad. For instructions please follow these steps:

• Open Control Panel.
• Select View by: Small icons.
• Open Mouse.
• Click on Touchpad tab.
• Under the Touchpad sub-menu, click Disable.
• Click Apply, and OK.

However, if you have other pointing device to connect on your laptop (like a mouse), you can disable the touchpad through Windows settings by following these steps:

• On your keyboard, press Windows + I.
• Click Devices.
• Choose Touchpad.
• Uncheck Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected.

After performing the steps above, your touchpad will be disabled until you disconnect the other pointing device.
