Windows 10: Keyboard hold causes repeats

Discus and support Keyboard hold causes repeats in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; If i start a game in my exampleark and i wanna walk for example and hold the w key it literally spams w no hold it spams i dont know how to fix this...     If i start a game in my exampleark and i wanna walk for example and hold the w key it literally spams w no hold it spams i dont know how to fix this thing pls help me

    Keyboard hold causes repeats

    I have this annoying problem with the keyboard when I hold a button it counts as more presses than a press and it's spamming all over. This can cause problems while playing some games, for example when I have to claim a free prize in Fortnite there's a
    button that I must hold the button to claim it, I tried holding it and it spams all over and can't claim it because of this issue. It all started a few weeks ago and I have no idea how to get rid of this. I tried getting rid of it with Refresh Windows cleaning
    deeply and the problem was not going away. Same thing I tried with FN+F5 thing and doesn't work. Any suggestions? This is really annoying one.

    Keyboard repeat delay and repeat speed

    Hi Joseph,

    I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the keyboard driver. Follow the steps to uninstall & reinstall the keyboard driver from device manager.


    • Press Windows key + X from the
      Keyboard       and click on Device Manager.

    • In Device Manager, double click on the
      Keyboard.

    • It will show you the device driver name, select that device and then right click on it.

    • Click on Uninstall button.

    • Restart the computer, the drivers will get automatically installed on your Windows 10.

    • Repeat the same for Mice and other pointing devices.

    If I hold any button from keyboard it spams

    It's normal for a key to repeat fire as you keep holding it. However you change both the delay until repeat and the repeat speed by using the Keyboard Control Panel. Use the steps listed here: Change Keyboard Repeat Delay and Rate in Windows 10.

    If you make the repeat slow enough it will effectively be like disabling it.
