  1. Keyboard hold turned into fast tapping W11

Hello,So i woke up this morning and started up my PC and fired up a game and wanted to move around i found out its stutteringish or so. So did tests with other games and in notebad and found out that my keyboards hold button function has turned into very fast tapping. Is it a windows 11 setting i can change or is my 2 years old ROG strix flare busted.... i dont want to believe its my keyboard since im a casual player and it has maybe 10%-20% of usage of a daily player over the past 2 years.

    :)

  2. Keyboard Equivalent for Tap & Hold?

    Hello all,

Does anyone know of any keyboard equivalent to tap & hold to bring up a pop-up menu for an item in a menu (I believe this is the Windows Mobile Equivalent to Right Mouse button)

I am a blind user and cannot use the stylus. Basically commands that I can enter are through the keyboard.

  3. Turn off Fast Startup

    Hi Michel,

Please take note that you must be signed in as an Administrator to be able to turn fast startup on or off. Fast startup requires that
hibernate be enabled. If you disable hibernate, then it will also disable fast startup.

Steps on how to manually turn off the Fast Startup

    • Open the Control Panel (icons view), and click on the
      Power Options
      icon.
    • Click/tap on the Choose what the power buttons do link on the left side
    • Click/tap on the Change settings that are currently unavailable link at the top
    • If prompted by UAC, click/tap on Yes
If the option for turning off the Fast Startup is not available, then changing the registry key maybe required.

Note: Please note that configuring Registry key requires extra care as it might cause another issue with your system.

    • Type RegEdit in the search field on your Task bar
and open the Registry tool.On the left pane of the Registry window, locate
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Power.
    • On the right pane of the said location, check if the HiberbootEnabled
is available. If not, we need to create it by clicking the right key of the mouse, select New
and click on DWORD (32 bit) Value.
    • Replace it with the word HiberbootEnabled under Name
column.Data value must be zero (0) that will represent as the Fast Startup is turned off.
    • Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.

Steps on how to disable UAC in Windows 10

    • Type UAC in the search field on your Task bar. (If the search field isn't visible, right-click the
      Start button and choose Search.)
    • Click Change User Account Control settings in the search results.
    • To turn UAC off, drag the slider down to Never notify and click
      OK.
    • You may be prompted to confirm your selection or enter an administrator password.
    • Reboot your computer for the changes to take effect.

We look forward to your response.

Keyboard hold turned into fast tapping W11

Does Windows 10 has a "fast turn on" off buttom?

    Hi Pedro,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Fast startup is turned on by default in Windows and is a setting that helps your PC start up faster after shutdown. You must be signed in as an administrator to be able to turn fast startup on or off.

To Turn On or Off Fast Startup in System Settings

    1. Open the Control Panel (icons view), and click on the Power Options icon.
    2. Click/tap on the Choose what the power buttons do link on the left side.

    3. Click/tap on the Change settings that are currently unavailable link
    at the top.

    4. If prompted by UAC, click/tap on Yes.

    5. To Turn Off Fast Startup

    A) Under Shutdown settings, uncheck the Turn on fast startup box, click/tap on the
    Save changes button

    6. You can now close the System Settings window if you like.

    Note

If the Turn on fast startup setting is not listed, then you will need to close the System Settings window,
enable hibernate, then start over at step 1 again.

Kindly let us know if you need any further assistance with Windows. We are glad to assist you.

    Thank you.
