Keyboard input lag when holding down a key

Hello everyone, I've got this issue with my keyboard since I built a custom PC, where it lags when I hold down a key. When I'm playing a video game, this gets annoying quick because I keep moving forward when hitting the W key, and have to wait before my spacebar hit registers. I often restart my PC if this gets too annoying, since it sort of shuffles around how bad the lag gets, but today, I restarted my PC, the lag had gotten a lot less recognizable, as always. After going away from my keyboard to have lunch, the lag got back again. I've tried everything. Update keyboard drivers, troubleshoo

    :)

  2. Keyboard input lag (Logitech K270 wireless keyboard, Windows 10 20H2)

Hi there. I've got yet another Windows 10 problem. lol

This time it's my keyboard. I'm using a Logitech K270 wireless keyboard, on Windows 10 Pro 20H2. I have been experiencing keyboard input lag off and on for a couple months now, and I've searched for possible solutions, but none so far have worked. I was hoping you guys could suggest some fixes.

Here's what I've tried, based on the suggestions I've found on the web:
    • Updating the keyboard/dongle's drivers (there are no drivers on Logitechs's site, oddly) and firmware. Nope.
    • Swapping USB ports. Nada.
    • Unplugging any extraneous USB devices. Zilch.
    • Checking the batteries. No joy.

As I was typing this it was lagging here and there. It's a bit disconcerting. Anyway... I don't think I missed anything, but if you need more information or diagnostics, lemme know and I'll upload 'em.

Update keyboard drivers, troubleshoot, tested with other computers, which showed me this problem occurs with any keyboard on my computer, and scrolled past dozens of forums, yet the problem is still present. This problem also occurs using bluetooth. Does anybody know why this happens, and if this is a hardware or software issue?

Keyboard input lag when holding down a key

One key has severe input lag but every other key is fine

Its a below average suggestion because he has expanded "replace your keyboard" into 2 paragraphs.
That wont work because the issue is Software related:

    - The key is responsive in any input language other than UK English
    - Logging into another non-root user account results in the key working fine in all layouts.

Replacing the keyboard will solve nothing because in a laptop the operating system treats the internal keyboard as a peripheral (the same as an external USB keyboard or mouse), a peripheral doesnt have executive power to "send junk messages" unless the driver relaying messages between the peripheral and the OS is faulty.

If both the USB keyboard and Virtual Keyboard display the same problem, and the problem can be fully/partially resolved by switching accounts or changing input language respectively, then it is 100% not a problem with the internal keyboard.

The Australian and US layouts do acknowledge that button.
The @ and " keys are swapped in the US layout so the output does not correspond with the physical key, but thats not the point.
The point is that the there is no input lag when changing layouts and switching accounts which would not be the case if it was a hardware problem.
