Windows 10: Keyboard input not functioning properly

Everything was fine last night when I shut my computer off, but today when I turned it on the input is not working right. Several keys do not function as they should spacebar also acts like page down, alt does strange things like occasionally bring up a menu I have never seen before and make letters appear over the screen, escape is not detected by several programs but works fine with others, and the 3 key randomly acts like it is being held down but hooking up a different keyboard has not helped. I also tried hooking up various keyboards to different USB ports to rule out that it was a phys

Intermittent keyboard non-functioning


I use a wireless mouse and keyboard. Every now and then, often enough to be irritating, the keyboard fails to function: the mouse works properly. The keyboard problem persists for a few minutes, after which it works again. There is no discernable pattern to this problem.

This is the third wireless keyboard to show the same problem, suggesting something is wrong elsewhere.

The keyboard batteries are not responsible for the failure.

On the same desk is a cordless telephone.

Any helpful suggestions would be very gratefully received.

Language keyboard input doesn't equal output

Language input may vary depending on the Input method set on your keyboard settings. To sort your concern, we suggest that you check if the desired input is set correctly by following these steps:

• Type in Language and keyboard options on the search box.
• Select the desired language that you're trying to set up.
• Once you've selected the language, select Options.
• Under Keyboards, select Microsoft IME and click
  Options.
• Scroll down and select Open advanced settings.
• A window will pop up. Under General tab, click the drop-down arrow for
  Input method and select the desired input.
• Click OK.
