Windows 10: Keyboard input settings keep switching on their own

I use two input settings on my computer - standard Qwerty, and Dvorak. Sometimes when I click to a different window it switches which input is active as I type, but doesn't actually change it on the system tray. I try the keyboard shortcut to switch inputs, nothing happens... no matter how many times I use it. I try toggling it back and forth by clicking directly on the options in the tray, and that doesn't work either. The only thing that seems to work is switch it off my desired input with the keyboard shortcut, and then switch back to it by clicking.


Occasionally I'll have other issues as well, such as both inputs being mixed, with the punctuation from one remaining but all other characters switching. Usually it's an occasional glitch, but lately it happens literally every single time I change the active window. I've tried toggling the 'Let me use a different input method for each app window' option, and having that option on or off doesn't seem to make a difference, neither does the 'Use the desktop language bar when it's available' option. I've tried toggling just about as many settings related to the keyboard as I can find, and nothing makes any difference whatsoever.

Language keyboard input doesn't equal output

Hi,

Language input may vary depending on the Input method set on your keyboard settings. To sort your concern, we suggest that you check if the desired input is set correctly by following these steps:

• Type in Language and keyboard options on the search box.
• Select the desired language that you're trying to set up.
• Once you've selected the language, select Options.
• Under Keyboards, select Microsoft IME and click
  Options.
• Scroll down and select Open advanced settings.
• A window will pop up. Under General tab, click the drop-down arrow for
  Input method and select the desired input.
• Click OK.

Norwegian keyboard showing up when switching input language

I appreciate your effort on this. I understand that you see Norwegian keyboard when you switch between the input languages. As you have checked the installed keyboard languages using PowerShell and didn’t find the keyboard language, I suggest you to
refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned below and see if you are able to find the keyboard language:

1. Press Windows key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type lpksetup and click on
   OK.
   
3. Click on Uninstall display languages.
   
4. If you find Norwegian keyboard listed, click on it and click on
   Next.
   
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove the language pack.

Problem with the new keyboard language switching menu

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



The default keyboard shortcut to switch between system language is by pressing the
Windows and Spacebar keys.



So, if you don't want the language menu to appear while playing the game, then I suggest you to change keyboard shortcut by following the below steps and change the keyboard shortcuts for changing the system language or keyboard language.

1. Go to Settings > Click on Devices > Click on
   Typing from the left pane.
   
2. Scroll down and click on Advanced keyboard settings and click on
   Input language hot keys.
   
3. In the Advanced Key Settings tab, you will find the key sequences for the input languages that you can change as your preference.
