Windows 10: Keyboard is defected in my toshiba laptop

Good day, the keyboard in my toshiba laptop is defected so I am therefore trying to use usb keyboard but it seems connected to the built-in keyboard because it won't function. Like in my keyboard, the key 'I' will function then using usb keyboard only the key 'I' will function also, the same with using on-screen keyboard.

This is not necessarily a driver or Windows or software issue.

I would suggest that you try a different keyboard via USB or bluetooth. If the issue continues, then we know it is software, otherwise it is a defective keyboard on the laptop. I think this step is crucial to help us narrow down our next step.

You could try here an official Toshiba Parts supplier, I got a Toshiba laptop keyboard from them though some items are a ridiculous price, they don't list a battery for mine. Still going on the original after 5 years.

Keyboard & Mouse: Acer Desktop

Ever since I would say, the past upgrade for Windows 10, my mom's Acer desktop's keyboard has been really laggy. For example, when I go to wake it from sleep to unlock it, the keyboard's Number lock and Caps lock keys do not want to light up. It seems as if the keyboard doesn't want to respond in a timely manner along with the computer. The same goes for the wireless Logitech mouse.
