Windows 10: Keyboard keeps typing spaces and I always need to hit the spacebar on my keyboard for it...

I haven't really done anything much to my laptop prior, but it has been happening for almost half a year now and it just becomes worse and worse. My laptop's keyboard keys don't work so I have to use an external keyboard but the laptop's spacebar keeps glitching out and spamming space and the only thing I can do for it to stop is to hit the spacebar so it would stop spamming but lately even after a few hits they keep coming back. It's honestly even a miracle that I could type this without the keyboard spamming again.

Keyboard keeps changing from my default!

Disable the keyboard shortcuts that have caused your problems by changing layouts inadvertently.

Settings,
Devices,
Typing,
Advanced keyboard settings,
Input language hot keys,
Advanced key settings tab,
Change key sequence,
Set Switch input language to Not assigned,
Set Switch keyboard language to Not assigned,
OK,
OK.

But there is also the WinKey+Spacebar shortcut and I have never found a way of disabling that.



A method of redirecting this key combination using PowerToys is suggested in the 30th May post by Archimedes Trajano at Disable Win+Space keyboard-layout switch - Super User

- When I was considering this issue, it seemed to me that redirecting WinKey+Spacebar to
WinKey+, {Desktop Peek}
was the least obtrusive alternative but a close second was
WinKey+Ctrl+Shift+B {wake PC}
but this does flash the screen & sound a beep.

keyboard problem

Hi,

Thank you for posting your concern on Microsoft Answer Community.



Basically, the menu bar pop-up because if we press Alt+spacebar key from the keyboard. In this scenario the spacebar is launching the menu bar, we would suggest you to check the Alt key because it might be pressed along with spacebar automatically.



We would need few information to isolate this issue.

• Was there any recent update prior to which you did not face this issue?
• What is the keyboard and PC make and model?
  
• Do you have any keyboard management software installed on your computer?
  

Please provide a screenshot of the window when you press the spacebar key, so that we can have a better understanding on this issue. Follow the steps mentioned in the

screenshot posted by Shawn ‘Cmdr’ Keene on Oct 2, 2015 to post the screenshot.



However, let us also try few steps and see if it helps.



Check with the ‘On-Screen Keyboard’.

You can follow this article to ‘Use the On-Screen Keyboard (OSK) to type’,
click on the ‘Ctrl’ key in the ‘On-Screen Keyboard’ and check if it opens iTunes.

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

The issue might occur if the keyboard layout has been changed. I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check for status.

• In the login screen, press/hold the Windows key
  and use the Spacebar key to change the keyboard layout to English (United Kingdom).
• After the input language is changed, check for status.
