Windows 10: Keyboard Keys Switched and Mouse Buttons Switched while gaming Every Day

Hello, ISSUE Whenever I am playing Minecraft Especially a Particular Modded version 1.12.2. My game randomly switches controls so If I am typing W it closes chrome. If I Right-Clicking in the desktop screen, It opens up Minecraft, Now you will be wondering why I have posted a game Issue in Microsoft. Well Even if I close minecraft the issue dosen't end So it might be a windows error because if its an game error upon closing the game the error should'nt be there. Right now all I can do is restart my pc when the issue comes.My ObservationSo I cant close Minecraft becau

Keyboard stops working after switching users...

Hi,

I have a very annoying issue that hast started to happen a few days ago. Basically when I switch users keyboard stops working.

Steps:

• Start PC
• Log in as user A - Keyboard works fine
• Switch User B - login screen is displayed and keypboard works to enter password
• User B descktop is displayed
  • Keyboard does not work
  • Mouse works
  • Strange behaviour - the system seems to act like the Enter key is stuck down (which it isn't). If I open word to a new document (using mouse) it just inserts new lines into the document... like I am holding the enter key down

I've tried a different keyboard and still the same issue.

Any ideas?

This sounds more like it's the game that's at fault rather than the keyboard. Games can remap keys while running for gameplay purposes, but they should restore the key mapping when you exit.

What is the game? Does this happen with all games, or just this one?

I'm not a gamer, but there's a dedicated forum for Gaming here on Ten Forums. Someone from there may be able to help.


In the mean time, as a workaround you could try adding a second keyboard layout. If yours is English US, then add English UK, for example. Next time the game messes up the keyboard, try switching to the alternative layout, then back to you preferred one. That may reset the key mapping.

so i have recently run into a quite annoying keyboard mess-up, my keys have been switched around while i was playing a game on steam. for context here are the keys that are messed up. t is now g, y is now h, [ is now ', ] shows the volume, left shift does not capitalize, backspace shows "searching for wireless display and audio devices." not much else, i am using on-screen keyboard to type now. i have tried and wiped my computer, i have re-installed drivers, i have used different usb ports, i have tried re-key mapping, to no effect. i plan on using my friend's keyboard to see if it's a hardware issue but honestly it doesn't seem to be.

any suggestions?
