Windows 10: Keyboard layout doesn't match language

I'm having a strange problem in Windows 10.The setup was done using the English US setup for both language and keyboard layout. After setup I installed Office, then I installed the German language pack. Now my keyboard is using the German keyboard layout even when using English US. When I click on the language icon in the lower right I see English US, German Keyboard and German, German Keyboard. I can't find anything that will let me change the keyboard to US for English US. Please help!

This suggests to me that you are using the wrong "keyboard language" for your keyboard, and that therefore you first step would be to determine exactly what language keyboard you have. Possibly have a look at Windows Keyboard Layouts - Globalization | Microsoft Docs.

(The age of any laptop capable of running Windows 10 at all should not be a problem as regards keyboard layout)

 

The extra keyboard layout keep adding to my language bar (with Pics)

The updated Windows 10 may have detected your language, the reason why it automatically gave you the other Thai US keyboard. To correct this issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Click on the Start Menu, type in region and language settings and select it.
• Under Languages, select Thai Kedmanee keyboard and click Remove.
• Lastly, add it back by clicking Add a language.

After these steps, your keyboard layout will permanently stay with Thai Kedmanee keyboard.

How to change the keyboard layout on Windows 10 TP?

This doesn´t work. I added my own language, the keyboard layout and set it to override the input method. The symbols on my keyboard still won´t match those on the screen. Please offer some help to resolve this problem, it´s really annoying to constantly
have to guess where the right symbol is.
