Windows 10: Keyboard layout keeps changing layout

My entire Windows is configured in English, the layout of the keyboard in Swiss-French. I speak fluently five languages between which I have to switch professionally several times during the day. I was drafting an e-mail in English and Windows kept changing the layout from Swiss-French to French sufficiently different for causing a strange outcome. I would like to know how to switch off that Windows keeps trying to change the keyboard? I never used any other keyboard than the previously mentioned layout!To Microsoft a general message: my personal experience is that artificial intelligence

Keyboard Layout

"Letters and numbers are all correct, but most of the other signs are misplaced"

This suggests to me that you are using the wrong "keyboard language" for your keyboard, and that therefore you first step would be to determine exactly what language keyboard you have. Possibly have a look at Windows Keyboard Layouts - Globalization | Microsoft Docs.

(The age of any laptop capable of running Windows 10 at all should not be a problem as regards keyboard layout)
