Windows 10: Keyboard Malfunction upon installation of Windows 11

Hello, I need your assistance. I use a HP folio 9480m, since I installed windows 11, some of the keys on the keyboard aren't working. Keys such as R, enter, I, and others aren't working unless I use the onscreen keyboard which is very stressful especially when I have a lot to type. Also tapping the "e" key once will enter the letter "e" endlessly until you hit the space bar. It will stop and continue almost immediately. What do I do about this.

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Keyboard is malfunctioning in Windows 10

• Did the keyboard worked properly before installing the update (KB3081424)?
• Have you tried to connect the external keyboard?
• Is the system connected to domain?

Kindly follow the below methods and check if it helps.

Method 1:

Update the keyboard drivers

1) Press Windows + R keys on the Keyboard.

2) Type devmgmt.msc in the Open text box.

3) Expand Keyboard from the window.

4) Right- click on the drivers and select
update driver software.

5) Follow the onscreen instruction to update to the latest drivers.

If the issue still persists, then perform the above steps again up to
step 4 and you may try to right click on keyboard drivers and select
Uninstall. Then reboot the laptop and check whether the keyboards drivers are installed.

If the issue still persists, follow the below method.

Method 2:

I suggest you to follow the below steps to install the latest driver updates through Windows updates and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

• Open the Start menu and type
  Windows update in the search bar.
• Click on Windows update and
  Check for the updates.
• Download and install if there are any pending updates to be installed.

If the issue still persists, then follow the below method.

Method 3:

Boot the computer in Safe Mode and place the computer in Clean Boot and check if the issue persists.

Step 1:

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs don't run in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

The steps for Windows 8.1 applies well to Windows 10 also.

Step 2:

A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows.

The steps for Windows 8.1 applies well to Windows 10 also.

Step 2:

Under Find and Fix other problems select Keyboard

Then click on Run the Troubleshooter

Restart the PC
