Windows 10: Keyboard mute mic button not unmuting

So I have a laptop and have had the same one for a while but just today for some reason the mute mic button next to the sound up button hasn't been working right. if it is working right, the light on the button is on if the mic is muted and off if the mic is on, but when I press the button its not unmuting like its supposed too. I don't know as much as I'd like when it comes to drivers and stuff, so I don't know how to fix it manually, also I've tried restarting the computer, and when I did it didn't reset the mic button and when I turned the laptop back on it like automatically muted the mic,

How to mute the microphone with a keyboard shortcut?

Without using third party software, how can a microphone mute shortcut be setup to mute a microphone on and off.

I do see under record devices>properties for mic> levels> a mute button there that would work. how can I trigger that with a keyboard shortcut if I need to turn mute and unmute quickly on voip calls. The button will work but I need to be able to access
it without going into the properties for the mic each time.

mute/unmute on active call for 6650

I recently received my 6650 - a nice phone, but not having a mute/unmute toggle button on an active call is terrible! Is there any way to fix this? or is there a 3rd party application to allow mapping the mute/unmute "option" to a keypress?

 

Dell Latitude Mic is Auto-Muting

Hello community. I have read older posts in regard to mic's muting themselves with no consistent solution it seems. I've updated drivers, and have tried a number of self-help scenarios.

What I know is this:

My laptop has a function key to mute or unmute the system realtek mic. (Function-F4)

The OS recording device properties tie into the keyboard functionality and also allows me to set gain, level, mute, and unmute.

Regardless if I unmute from the function key or OS setting, the mic will auto-mute itself.

Sometimes auto-mute occurs in seconds, other times it's when I open Skype or MS Teams. I can never exactly tell when it's going to mute.

Yes, I have unchecked "Allow apps to take exclusive control.." option on the Realtek recording device.

The device is called "Microphone Array" in Windows.

I have two devices under sound, video, and game contorllers in device manger:

Intel(R) Display Audio

Realtek Audio

Audio Inputs and Outputs in Device Manager:

Microphone Array (Realtek Audio)

Speakers/Headphones (Realtek Audio)

Ideas?
