Windows 10: Keyboard not working for login & not NUMLOCK

My sons laptop running Windows 10 does not allow the use of letters when typing in login pin, just numbers and enter key. It will ask to use the A1B2C3 phrase and the keyboard works fine then but when he goes to use his own pin/password neither the laptop keyboard or a wireless one works apart from numbers and enter key. Laptop has no numpad.

Keyboard NUMLOCK

Just reloaded Windows 10 and I can't keep the NUMLOCK on. I have tried many suggestions. I have looked at the registry and it shows on and the bio shows it is on. Any suggestions?

I realize that the numlock is not working on the PC. I will try to help you with this issue.

Close all open windows and restart the computer once to check if that helps with the numlock. Suggest you to plug in an external keyboard to check if that helps you in this issue.

Press and hold the Num Lock key until a beep sounds.
The keypad should now work.

Suggest you to use the onscreen keyboard to check if that helps. To open the OSK from the sign-in screen, select the Ease of Access button in the lower-right corner of the sign-in screen, and then select On-Screen Keyboard.

Keyboard - Backspace and NumLock

Hello everyone,

One of our users seems to be having issues with their keyboard numpad keys. The issue doesn't happen right away, but it does happen. The issue is when the user uses the number 2 on the keypad -- it goes down instead of keying the number 2. Also, from time
to time, the Backspace inserts double zeros instead of deleting. I made sure that the NumLock was on. I also remoted in to see if this issue would happen if I entered 2 on my keypad from my keyboard and it still happened. I've looked all over google for a
solution, but still haven't found anything. (hopefully that all made some sense)

Things I've tried:

• Uninstalled\Reinstalled keyboard drivers. (works temporarily)
• Replaced keyboard several times with both USB and PS/2 keyboards.
  • Plugged keyboards into different ports
• Reimaged and swapped out PC's 3 times. (Each time with different images)
  • Had different users login to these specific computers to test and it happens to them as well.
  • Had the main user log into a different workstation and she didn't run into any issues.
• Removed local profile.
• Removed Citrix profile.
• Ran Windows Updates.
• Ran SFC and Windows troubleshooter. (Detected nothing wrong)

Any help would be much appreciated.
