Windows 10: Keyboard not working in Windows10 fields

My keyboard is not working in fields required by Windows10, such as the "Search for anything" field and the fields which open up when accessing Settings. It works as expected in browser and applications fields, as evidenced by my being able to type this note. I have updated the drivers but this has not resolved the problem. Any suggestions as to what else I can try to resolve this.

Have tried few steps from youtube videos but did not work.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: You may check if the ALT key is functioning correctly in on-screen keyboard. It will help us to verify if there is any issue with the keyboard.

Follow the steps below to open On-screen Keyboard.

  Windows + Q, type OSK (on-screen keyboard)
  
• 
  And check if it works
  

Step 2: Run Hardware and device Troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your devices. Refer these steps:

  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.

  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.

  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.

Outlook Contacts fields sync

Hi Julie, thanks for the contact list fields.

My problem with contact sync:

• Windows Phone 7: contains a field "website"
• live.com(hotmail contacts): contains a field "website"
• Windows Live Mail 2011: contains 2 fields "personal website" and "work website"

Those 3 platforms don't sync these fields among each other. Do you have any ideas, suggestions?
