Windows 10: Keyboard number keys stop working until I reboot.

My keyboard number keys the ones in a row above the letters, not the ones on the numeric keypad randomly stop working.

I can't get them to work again without performing a reboot, although if I put up with it for a while, the problem sometimes fixes itself.

I thought it was a problem with the keyboard Razer, so switched that for another keyboard Logitech, but the problem still occurs.

I have searched online for an answer, but all the solutions refer to either problems with the numeric keypad keys e.g. Num Lock must be on or the Mouse Keys setting Settings > Ease of Access > Mouse, neither or which are relevant to my problem.

My device drivers are all up to date.

While the problem is happening, the number keys won't type a number, however I can produce the symbols on the keys, by holding down 'Shift', although I have to hold the number key down for an extra half second or so, for the symbol to appear.

Hoping someone can shed some light on this for me, as it is really impacting my productivity.

random keyboard keys stop working?

i went out today and everything was fine, i come home and three random keys stopped working, maybe more i havent noticed yet. the three key on the left side of the keyboard not working, the left shift stopped working, and the enter key stopped working, but the one on the numpad works fine. no one was home to use it, nothing spilled on it, i tried it on another computer and same deal. im gonna go buy a new one tomorrow but it makes me sad cause i loved this keyboard lol, microsoft ergonomic 4000. ill probably buy the same exact one if its in stock tomorrow, this one lasted or 4 years about. im just confused why three random keys spread out stopped working at the same time...seems very weird

 

Some keyboard keys stopped working after windows 10 upgrade

Has the Notebook been worked on? Do any of those keys work if holding down the Shift key? Have you used compressed air to blow out any crud that may be blocking the keys?

It's not expensive nor hard to replace the keyboard, usually can find a video or step-by-step articles on the 'net.

Keyboard Volume Keys not working while in-game

I happen to have used the Tt Challenger Pro keyboard in the past, and the volume keys worked flawlessly in every game, so it's indeed a weird problem. I would suggest the same thing sneekypeet suggested, using the keyboard software and assign this function to a hotkey, but you said that didn't work either, so yeah...
