  1. Keyboard problem: last letter not registering when typing 3-letter sequences quickly

I am experiencing an annoying problem with my laptop keyboard. When I type letter combinations like ‘tri’, ‘gri’, ‘fri’ or ‘kri’ quickly, the letter ‘i’ does not register correctly, leading me to type ‘tr’, ‘gr’, ‘fr’ or ‘kr’ instead of what I intended. This only happens when I press the keys quickly and almost simultaneously. If I type slowly, the ‘i’ registers without any problems.Has anyone had a similar problem or know how I could fix it? Thanks in advance!Laptop model: Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5Operating system: Windows 11

    Keyboard not typing letters

My PC keyboard will only type numerals. No letter keys are working. Since my password is all letters I cannot sign in.

I have been running Windows 10 since its release.

    Random Letters Typing

When typing, particularly when typing emails, the symbol \ randomly appears after I type the letter r. Additionally, after I type c or e, occasionally a period randomly follows. More frequently, the window I type in maximizes to the fill screen setting or demaximizes as I type. This also seems to occur randomly. The touchpad is turned off. Also, H is almost always capitalized when it is the second letter of the first word of a sentence - I thought this was my poor typing, but it is consistently H that does it. A few other letters also do that, so perhaps that one is on me, but I don't generally have that problem on other keyboards.

Steps I have tried to fix it:

    1. Uninstall and reinstall keyboard drivers.

    2. Keyboard troubleshooting wizard.

    3. Checked sticky keys and language settings.

    4. Downloaded Synaptics driver database for the touchpad.

    5. Used an external keyboard - and these problems do not occur on the external keyboard.

This has occurred since I originally set up the computer.

Note: While typing this question, the window maximized to 'fill' in the middle for no apparent reason.

  4. Keyboard problem: last letter not registering when typing 3-letter sequences quickly

    Keyboard not registering some letters

This happened suddenly today. I had been using the laptop for some time, typing in both English and Greek with no problem.

Then I went to log onto a website and my b key didn`t register. Other keys also fail to register or show as something different such as an accented i or a. The space bar doesn`t register. If I hit one key several times I may suddenly get a b or a random forward slash that is very faint compared to the letters. At other times, once the first key fails to register the keyboard becomes generally unresponsive.

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and did a System Restore that seemed to solve it. Tried that this time with no success.

Tried 2 different malware scans which were both clear. I tried to use my Dell SupportAssist to do a hardware scan but this will not open.

I tried to use the onscreen keyboard but although this will open it is useless as the cursor just becomes a spinning circle when over the keyboard.

I managed to get into safe mode and the problem is still there.

Not sure what to do now. Would a new install solve the problem?
