Windows 10: Keyboard problem

Hi, I have this problem with my keyboard that I could not solve.

When I press the "9" key in the numeric pad it types "hge9+" when numLock is on and this "hge" when it is off. The "7" key types "-s²733" and turns caps lock on when the numLock is on, and when the numLock is off it types "65S²73" and it turns the caps Lock off like a switch key .

I know it's confusing but long short story these two keys are malfunctioning. The "7" key makes this beep sound onclick the one you hear when you turn on/off toggle keys so I'm assuming it's acting like a toggle key maybe ?

Also, my laptop used to take a screenshot when I press the windows Key + impecr sys but now it doesn't. I tried restarting the computer, uninstalling the keyboard driver, turned off the sticky/toggle keys, changed my prefered language and still nothing.

PS : I just changed my keyboard lately because it was not functioning well so I don't think I should change it again, I have an x541U ASUS laptop with windows 10 64bit.

I suggest you to check if the issue persists when you connect another keyboard to your system.

If the issue is with the keyboard, then suggest you to update the keyboard drivers by following the steps below.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager from the list.
  
• 
  Expand ‘Keyboard’ from the list.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver and select ‘update driver software’ and follow the prompts.

Keyboard letters problem

Here are the first two steps you need to take:

• Try a different keyboard (or an external USB keyboard in case of a laptop)
• See if the problem persists with the on-screen keyboard (osk.exe)

 

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.
