Windows 10: Keyboard Shortcuts Chaos - Windows 10

Many of the keyboard shortcuts available under Windows 7 are not recognized by Windows 10. This is particularly annoying for users who:

1. Type in multiple languages including languages that make use of special alhabetical characters/accents such as Spanish, French, most central and eastern european languages and many more!
2. Make use of non alphabetical special characters
3. Use keyboard shortcuts to navigate between windows and trigger actions

Typically, Alt+ digit numbers enables to write a multitude of special characters see https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alt_codes. Many of those combinations are associated to country specific alphabet. At the moment, all the Alt+ digit number are unrecognized triggers a windows notification sound instead of the desired characters.


Please:

1. Assist so I can use again all the keyboard shortcuts detailed on this wikipedia page: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alt_codes
2. Tell where I can view, add, remove and edit the current keyboard shortcuts.

Keyboard shortcuts to open programs:

Create a shortcut on the desktop to whatever program you want. Right click -> Properties and fill in the field there. Sadly the shortcut needs to remain on the desktop, but you can hide it.

Fun fact: If you had keyboard shortcuts for programs pinned to your Windows 7 start menu, those shortcuts still work when you update to Windows 10.

Windows keyboard shortcuts

I have a list of win10 keyboard shortcuts but some do not do as suggested. For example : F2 doesn't allow me to change the name of the item - but F4 does. I got the list from Windows 10 website ; https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/12445
