Keyboard shortcuts open applications slower than clicking on the icon

Using a keyboard shortcut for an application (Right-Click>Properties>Shortcut key) takes a few seconds for the application to start loading (i.e. it's not the application that is taking a few seconds to load, more like it's taking a while to register the keyboard shortcut to begin the application), where as double clicking on the .exe opens the application straight away.

This has only occured since the upgrade to Windows 10, in Windows 7 the keyboard shortcuts started the application straight away.

This isn't a showstopping issue, just wondering whether anyone else has noticed a similar issue.
I can't list the PC specs as this is a colleages PC, I do know that it is a Dell Precision T1700.

    Cheers

    :)

You could set a keyboard shortcut for opening an application in Windows 10. Setting a keyboard shortcut to open a specific application would be a safe way to utilize the functionality of Windows 10. Here's how to set a keyboard shortcut for an application
    in Windows 10:

    • Press the Start button, then type the name of the application.
    • Right-click the application, and select Open file location.
    • From there, drag the application to the desktop to create a shortcut.
    • Right-click the shortcut in the desktop and select Properties.
    • In the Properties window, click the Shortcut
      tab.
    • Click the box beside the Shortcut key: line.
    • Press the desired key to make it the keyboard shortcut for the application.
Note: If prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, enter the password or provide confirmation.

  3. Move Icon to Taskbar?

Just Drag and Drop in case of an Application shortcut.

If the icon is a file shortcut, then the application opening it is pinned and the file shortcut is added to pinned items of the application(Accessed by right clicking the application pinned in the taskbar.)

At least, works for me, hopefully you too Keyboard shortcuts open applications slower than clicking on the icon :)
